Ethnography

Ethnographic research is used to obtain an in-depth understanding of practices, values, traditions, and circumstances.

Traditional ethnographic research can be cost prohibitive, especially when you need to understand multiple segments. The remote approach allows you to have a large, geographically dispersed respondent pool studied over a number of days for less cost than traditional ethnography without sacrificing depth and quality.

How does it work?

Camcorders are given to each respondent and respondents are asked to record themselves for a set number of days or amount of time. The camcorders can be given to the participants as part of their incentive to participate.

Respondents would be provided with a list of questions that they would need to answer, as they are completing their assignment. Also, we have a dedicated FTP site for participants to easily upload their videos.

Recent examples of use:

–> There was a new kids awards show on TV and producers wanted to see how kids responded to the show.
–> A phone company wanted to observe in-home installation of a new device.
